Mr. Aldon Morris is the Leon Forrest Professor of Sociology and African American Studies at Northwestern University. His book, The Origins of the Civil Rights Movement, is the recipient of the American Sociological Association Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship Award. Professor Morris's current research seeks to formulate a comprehensive explanation of the national Civil Rights Movement that includes new scholarship on the northern movements.
