This session is presented by Clayborne Carson, Stanford University Professor and Director of Stanford's Martin Luther King, Jr. Research and Education Institute. Professor Carson is the preeminent Martin Luther King scholar. He has served as Editor of the Martin Luther King papers for three decades, by arrangement with Coretta Scott king. Dr. Carson will present an analysis of the role of lawyers in counseling Dr. King and managing the legal problems faced during the movements and events with which Dr. King was associated during his career.
